Privacy policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026
Mawjud AI (“Mawjud”, “we”) is an AI sales assistant that answers a shop’s customers on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger and takes their orders. It is run from Beirut, Lebanon.
This policy covers two groups of people: shop owners and their staff who use Mawjud (“you”), and the customers who message those shops (“customers”). It explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect from shop owners
- Your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form by our sign-in provider; we never see them.
- If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account. Nothing else from Google.
- Your shop: its name, products, photos, prices, sizes, stock, delivery areas and costs, and your settings.
- The WhatsApp number and the Instagram or Facebook accounts you connect, and the phone number we send your alerts to.
- Your plan and payment records: amounts, dates and the payment reference. We do not receive or store card details.
What we collect from customers who message a shop
When a customer messages a shop that uses Mawjud, we receive and store:
- The messages they send to the shop and the replies sent back, including voice notes and images.
- Their name or username and phone number as the messaging app shows them.
- Order details they give: name, phone number, area, delivery address and what they ordered.
What we do not do
- We only process messages that arrive after a shop connects to Mawjud. We do not read or analyse a shop’s older chat history.
- We do not sell personal information, and we never use a shop’s data or its customers’ messages for advertising.
- We do not use the content of conversations to train AI models.
- We never send a shop’s data, its conversations, its orders or anything about its customers to Meta or any other advertiser. The advertising tools we do use, on our own website only, are explained under “Cookies and advertising” below.
Why we use it
- To answer customers on the shop’s behalf, using only the shop’s own catalog.
- To take orders and show them to the shop, and to alert the owner when a person is needed.
- To run your account: sign-in, billing, and keeping the service working.
- To help you when you ask for support. To do this, Mawjud’s team can view your shop’s settings and conversations.
Who we share it with
Only with the providers that run the service for us, and only what each one needs to do its job:
- Supabase — our database, sign-in and file storage (hosted in Frankfurt, Germany).
- Anthropic and OpenRouter — the AI models that read a customer’s message and write the reply.
- Zernio — connects a shop’s Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp to Mawjud.
- Meta — WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger themselves, which carry the messages.
- Vercel — hosts the website.
- Cloudflare — network security and routing.
- Contabo — a server we rent in Europe that runs the service answering messages and sends WhatsApp alerts to shop owners.
- Resend — sends sign-in and confirmation emails.
- Google — only if you choose “Continue with Google”.
- Meta Pixel — measures visits to our public pages and sign-ups for our own Facebook and Instagram ads. See “Cookies and advertising” below.
Cookies and advertising
Our website uses a few cookies it needs to work: one keeps you signed in, one remembers your language, and one remembers your cookie choice.
On our public pages, sign-up, sign-in and the one-time welcome page shown after you set up your shop, and nowhere else, we also use the Meta Pixel. Third parties, including Meta, may use cookies, web beacons and other storage technologies to collect or receive information from our website and elsewhere on the internet, and use that information to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads.
What the Meta Pixel sends to Meta from your browser: the pages you visit there, that you created an account (but not your email, name, password or shop), your IP address and browser, and Meta’s own cookies (_fbp and _fbc). We use this to learn whether our Facebook and Instagram ads bring us sign-ups, and to show our ads to people likely to find Mawjud useful.
Nothing from the dashboard, from a shop’s own pages, or from any conversation or order is sent to Meta for advertising.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, none of this happens until you press “Accept” in the cookie banner: we rely on your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time. Everywhere else it runs unless you press “Decline”.
- You can change your choice whenever you like with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every public page.
- To control the ads Meta shows you, and how it uses information from other websites: https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences
- To opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at once: https://www.aboutads.info/choices (United States) or https://www.youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. The website still works, but you may have to sign in again.
Google user data
If you use “Continue with Google”, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to create your Mawjud account and sign you in. We do not share them with anyone else, use them for advertising, or request access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google data.
Where it is stored
Our database is in Frankfurt, Germany. Some providers above may process data in other countries, including the United States. Data travels between them encrypted.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and your shop’s data for as long as your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and your shop’s conversations and orders within 30 days, except payment records we need to keep for accounting.
Your choices
- Shop owners can see, correct or delete their shop’s information from the dashboard, and can ask us for a copy or for full deletion.
- Customers of a shop should first contact that shop, which decides what is kept about its orders. You can also write to us and we will help.
- Write to us at mawjud.ai.lb@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days.
Children
Mawjud accounts are for people aged 18 and over who run or work in a shop. Our website and our ads are not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and tell shop owners by email or in the dashboard before a significant change takes effect.
